Thomas Pol grew up in a musical family. At the age of 4 he started taking violin lessons, and he was 10 picking up the double bass. He studied in Rotterdam and New Orleans, the cradle of jazz.
Since then he has been on stage as an accompanist for not only Dutch jazz artists but also international stars such like Gregory Porter, Randy Brecker, Jamison Ross, Nicholas Payton and Peter Bernstein.
